My bed is behind the camera in the photo above, over the cab area. It's called queen-sized, but it's really just a double bed plus a few inches.
I can live and work here just as easily as back home near Seattle. A Verizon Air Card connects my laptop computer to the internet at broadband speed, and I have my cell phone, which is what everyone calls me on at home, too. I can also video chat on the internet with my friends and co-workers. It's almost like sitting across a table from them.
These days I use a Garmin GPS system to tell me which road to take to get somewhere. I call it Eleanor because it has a female voice.
Today I am in Connecticut, where I will be for at least two more days. Then I don't know where I will be. The view out my windows changes a lot, but inside, my little home always looks pretty much the same. This the life!
Thank you for posting this. I have been trying to remember the size of your RV because of that picture you posted a while back of it backed into a small camp site. We want to go places like that, so we can't go any bigger than your rig.

I had my twins both leave for college at the same time, talk about a double whammy of "miss your kids" Well it took about two weeks to get over that, not to mention less cooking, laundry and grocery shopping. Besides every mother (or father bird) wants their baby birds to learn how to fly. Great school for Miss Emily , we wish her luck!

I've been in CT since AUG 2nd. Been a full timer since NOV '94, but am now doing it solo. I park in the family's drive and am not far from where you are. Isn't it lovely country?
ReplyDeleteLike your rig for it's size, but like my 37 ft. for the same reason. I'm hoping to go to the show in PA before I head south.
We have the Garmin also and we call her "Sweetie", we tried the male voice but didn't like him. We also use the Verizon air stick, only way to go, the big dishes look like a real pain to travel with and set up at each locale. We'll start our winter travels about the middle of October, can't wait. Enjoy your new found freedom and safe travels ! We enjoy keeping up with you each Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBy all means enjoy upstate NY. Corning Glass is not to be missed. Elmira NY and Mark Twains' study [Pilot House] on the Elmira College campus is interesting too. Quary Farm where Mark Twain wrote many of his books is near by.

I was so glad Earl passed us by. I am currently in Glocester RI (you're almost next door!) on Waterman Lake visiting family. I had to move my motorhome up from the Lake to the driveway in case it intensified and I had an alternate plan in case the winds picked up. I have a 24' Winnebago with a rear kitchen and bath, couch, table and overhead bed and a slide. You're right, it's a great size to get into those smaller spaces but adequate to live in for a couple of months. Enjoy your time in CT. The weather is suppose to be beautiful the next few days. Family reunion, here, on Monday.

I just bought my wife a 15" Macbook pro also with a second hi def monitor. She also writes (novels) but whilst we got the second monitor working, we didn't like the idea of having to move a MSWord window onto the 2nd monitor to utilise the system. DW likes the idea of editing with two copies of a story open at the same time. I'm wondering how you like it and especially how you work with the second monitor.
BTW we are just getting into full time RVing and are about to go pickup our new Dodge dually.

ReplyDeleteSince Feb 3rd we have spent 102 nights in our TT. Not full timers yet but sure are getting the use of the rig! we are already looking forward to December when we can leave Minnesota for Texas and four months of sun shine instead of snow.
ReplyDeleteI am so envious of all of you that can travel in your RVs. I have some real estate to sell then I want to travel the US also. It seems overwhelming when I think of what I have to do but that is my plan. My youngest is in college so the time is right for me. Happy travels-Nancy
ReplyDeleteHey,looks like not many posts that I can see from 2013.I am traveling in a Thor 27' Class C.Bought it last year then work camped last summer.I used to have a 45' 5th wheel that my husband & I full timed in for the past 17 years.After he passed away I decided that I still wanted to RV hence my little Class C.I do love it.Enjoy traveling & hope to work camp up in Wa this July/August.Enjoy reading your blogs.Maybe I'll see ya down the road somehwhere.Travel safe.
